From Monday, August 18, to Thursday, August 28, 2025, the National High Magnetic Field Laboratory (NHMFL) in Tallahassee, Florida, hosted its annual summer research visits.
The event brought together 15 participants from Europe and beyond, including PhD students and postdoctoral researchers. Designed as a comprehensive training program, it combined lectures, hands-on practical sessions, and networking opportunities, fostering meaningful exchanges of scientific knowledge and best practices.
The program featured:
-
Lectures on instrumentation, DNP theory, and key concepts in magnetic resonance, including pulse sequences, phase cycling, and an introduction to high-field EPR.
-
Short student presentations (5–10 minutes) on research topics and expectations for collaboration.
-
A shadowing scheme with two alternating groups throughout the week.
-
Practical training in sample packing and spinning, as well as probe swapping and tuning.
The initiative was made possible through the coordination and support of the Florida State University team, with special thanks to Frédéric Mentink-Vigier, Ilya Litvak, and Faith Scott.
