The exterior is adorned with sculptures and details that reflect the influence of both Eastern and Western artistic traditions.
magnificent example of Venetian Gothic architecture and was the residence of the Doge of Venice.
Located adjacent to St. Mark's Basilica, the palace features a blend of architectural styles, including elements of Byzantine, Moorish, and Renaissance influences.
The most iconic structures in Venice and a prime example of Renaissance architecture.
It spans the Grand Canal and has been rebuilt several times since the first wooden bridge was constructed in the late 16th century.
The current stone bridge is known for its arches and shops along its length.
These architectural marvels showcase the rich history and diverse influences that have shaped Venice over the centuries. While these are just three examples, exploring the streets and canals of Venice will reveal many more architectural gems throughout the city.

Event program
PANACEA Summer School programSunday 16th - Friday 21st of June 2024
Fundamentals of Solid State NMR Spectroscopy for Chemists
Exclusively on site
The program is designed to integrate both novice and experienced users.
It will include a comprehensive and practical description of basic concepts, of the instrumentation and of simple solid-state NMR correlation experiments.
In parallel, a broad range of topics will be addressed at a more advanced level: Hamiltonians in solid-state NMR, anisotropic interactions, tensor description, magic angle spinning and time-dependent Hamiltonians, average Hamiltonians, principles of recoupling and decoupling under MAS, principles of hyperpolarized NMR, paramagnetic NMR, relaxation in the solid state, DFT calculations, simulation and interpretation of solid-state NMR data.

Meeting
The PANACEA consortium is organizing a summer school from June 16-21, 2024 in Venice (IT) entitled « Fundamentals of solid-state NMR spectroscopy for chemists ».
The school is directed towards academic and industrial researchers (including graduate students, post-doctoral fellows, and other early-stage researchers) as well as engineers, working on problems in chemistry and materials science.
The objective is to provide state-of-the-art theoretical and experimental knowledge in solid-state NMR, including in application areas directly relevant to their professional occupation, but also providing a wider background.
The school will take place on the remote and charming island of San Servolo in Venice , Italy.
