To Friday 21 June 2024 - 05:00pm
Directed towards academic and industrial researchers and engineers (including graduate students, post-doctoral fellows, and other early-stage researchers), the objective is be to provide state-of-the-art theoretical and experimental insight in solid-state NMR, including topics directly relevant to their professional occupation but providing also a wider background.
Training will involve a variety of experts, and will take the form of lectures, tutorials, discussions supplemented by guided problem-solving sessions, so to allow participants to acquire a deep understanding of the possibilities (and limitations) of the various techniques of solid- state NMR. All the attendees will be invited to present their research activities during short oral presentations within thematic round tables.
The program is designed so to integrate both novice and experienced users. On the one hand the program includes a comprehensive and practical description of basic concepts, of the instrumentation and of simple solid- state NMR correlation experiments. In parallel, a broad range of topics addresses at a more advanced level: Hamiltonians in solid-state NMR, anisotropic interactions, tensor description, magic angle spinning and time-dependent Hamiltonians, average Hamiltonian and Floquet theory, principles of recoupling and decoupling under MAS, principles of hyperpolarized NMR, paramagnetic NMR, relaxation in the solid-state, implementation of phase cycling and quadrature detection.
At the end of the school, the participants will receive a certificate of attendance and the course material in an electronic form (USB sticks and on the PANACEA web site) in order for them to make the most of the training experience, and allow dissemination of the acquired knowledge.
The school accepts up to ca. 50 attendees and last 5 full days. Participation in the schools as well as accommodation will be free for all attendees, while travelling costs will be at their own expenses. PANACEA will rent the venue, cover travel and accommodation expenses for the speakers, as well as meals and social events for all participants.
More information will come soon.
